The Quarantine Family

Eventually the lock-down atmosphere caught up with me.
The sadness of the empty streets, the faces behind the windows, the feeling of prison even in the streets, all these things slowly slipped into me, mingled with the colour and, although they infused them with passion, they dramatised the situation.

Acrylic on canvas, 75 x 57 cm. Representing a family, assembled in front of a closed window. Painted after one year of pandemic.
Acrylic on canvas. 103 x 60 cm.

A crib of the family in quarantine, with its load of unease, holds the key to the feeling of estrangement, the contrast between the sweet rediscovered importance of affection and the sense of powerlessness and precariousness that this pandemic has instilled in me.
